RCE Barcelona offers Micro-teaching in collaboration with the Technical Foundation of Catalunya (Fundació Politècnica de Catalunya). Micro-teaching consists of capsules of professional in-house training in key aspects of sustainability relevant to the organisation in question. Micro-teaching is a learning methodology that has been developed by 6 European universities and tried and tested with businesses and public organisations in Catalunya and other European countries.

A common challenge for organisations is that it is difficult to regularly dedicate time to internal knowledge transfer within an organisation, particularly when tackling complex, systemic issues relating to sustainablity and organisational social responsibility. Experience has proven that it is useful to have a practical, time-efficient and effective methodology to develop the professional and personal competencies needed for staff to be able to contribute to the overall environmental and social objectives of their organisation, for example relating to environmental legislation, environmental management systems, energy efficiency, security, human rights, triple bottom line accounting, reporting and innovation strategies for sustainability.

• Initial learning needs analysis for a specific group of people within the business based on the relevant area of sustainability
• Series (6-12) of learning modules of 15 to 30 minutes each delivered in the place of work by sustainability experts from RCE Barcelona founding member organisations
• Evaluation by learners and organisation based on agreed learning outcomes
